Most of the time, your Samsung Galaxy Note 5 works just fine. The apps load pretty fast, and all tasks are performed without any issues. But, there comes a time when a device may start to act strangely. It may restart itself, or it may completely freeze. There are  many solutions to every problem, and usually, one of the options you will see is factory data reset. It is listed as the last solution when nothing else works, and because it erases everything you have on your device. For instance, it will erase all your personal settings, it will wipe off all applications you have installed, and all the data you stored. So, before you do that, you need to backup everything that is significant for you. However, when the phone restarts itself, when its crashing or freezing, there is another thing you can do which is not as drastic as factory data reset. What you can do is to reset all settings on Samsung Galaxy Note 5. We are going to explain the difference and we are going to show you how to do this.

So, what is the difference between factory data reset and reset all settings option? As we said, factory data reset will erase everything, which is not the case with the option No.2. Your files won’t be deleted, and the apps you have installed will still be there. The personal settings (notification sounds, ringtone, display settings, and so on…) will be deleted and your phone will be on its factory settings again. This can fix the problems you are experiencing, and it is not as drastic as factory data reset.

To reset all settings on your Samsung Galaxy Note 5 here is what you need to do:

  • From the Home screen click on Apps
  • Click on Settings
  • Tap Backup and reset
  • Tap Reset settings
  • Click on Reset settings to confirm the action
  • When prompted tap Reset.

Follow the above-mentioned steps and you will reset all settings on the Note 5.
