The Samsung Galaxy Note 8 is undoubtedly an incredible phone with features that are both useful and cool. There are some issues connected to Note 8 that have been coming up in the Samsung community threads and one of them which grabs the most attention is that some Note 8’s are having freezing problems. When a phone gets frozen it means nothing is working, the phone gets stuck and you don’t seem to have any options to reboot it. In such a situation you will have to reset the phone. Here is how to reset a frozen Galaxy Note 8.

Ways to Reset a Frozen Galaxy Note 8

Soft Reset

You will have to force start your phone to reboot. This is known as a ‘soft reset’. None of your data is going to be erased with this step and you can easily reset a frozen Galaxy Note 8.

Press and hold the Power and Volume Down key together for more than 7 seconds – this will force your phone to vibrate and turn off and then turn on again instantly.

However, if your Note 8 has crashed the phone will boot into ‘Safe Mode’. You will then have to follow the instructions given on the screen and then using Volume Keys navigate to the “Reboot” option.

Hard Reset

How to Reset a Frozen Galaxy Note 8

Sometimes the phone will not work with a soft reset. There is another way which is known as the hard reset. Remember, a hard reset will clear all the data and settings on your phone. Your phone will return to its original default settings.

  • Press and hold the Volume Up and the Power button. You will see the Samsung logo and towards the upper left-hand side corner of your phone, you will see Recovery Booting.
  • Next use the Volume Down key to navigate to Wipe Data/Factory Reset and to make a selection use the Bixby button.
  • Once again use the Volume Down to navigate to Yes-Delete All User Data and make a selection with the Bixby button.
  • Once you do this, the process of factory reset will begin. When the process is over the system will prompt you Reboot System Now. You need to select the option and then your device will start in the factory reset condition.

Now that you know how to reset a frozen Galaxy Note 8 you can use the steps and your phone will work flawlessly again.
