Steps To Follow To Move Apps To The SD Card On Galaxy S8

Step 1: Open Settings on your Samsung Galaxy S8 Smartphone.

Step 2: Scroll down to Settings and open Apps icon.

Step 3: Scroll down to the particular app that you wish to transfer to the SD card of your phone and select it.

Step 4: Now, you should tap on the Storage option inside the particular app.

Step 5: Once you have tapped on “Storage”, you need to spot the “Storage Used” option. This would make you aware of the amount of phone storage or memory the particular app is using. If you find it considerable, then you can move the same to the SD card on your phone.

Step 6: Under the “Storage Used” icon, you need to tap on the option “Change”. You must note that several apps would not support moving to the SD card. In case, there is no Change option corresponding to a particular app, then you cannot move it to the SD card.

Step 7: Click on the radio button present next to the SD card option.

Step 8: On reaching the next screen, you can tap on the option Move and then wait for the process of moving the apps get completed. If you wish to move the app back to the internal storage, then you should simply go through the same series of steps again. You would need to select “internal” options in the settings.

As it is noted above, you would come across several apps that are not available to be moved to the external SD card. This feature is present in the smartphones for a good reason. Several apps are aware of the fact that they would not be able to maintain their high performance if they would be present on the SD card. On the other hand, they might also need special permission that could be allowed only when they are present on the internal built-in storage of the phone.

If you are not able to move apps to SD card in Galaxy S8 or Galaxy S8 Plus, then you can try moving other features like media files or games to the external storage to free up the internal storage of the smartphone.
