As Apple’s step by step strategy in offering their technology, it’s time for iPhone adopts the newest technology i.e Force Touch which had been introduced in Apple Watch and MacBook 12 Inch Retina Display. As reported by Bloomberg that suppliers have started early production of next generation iPhones that feature Force Touch.
“Apple is bringing Force Touch, first unveiled for the Apple Watch and the newest MacBook model, to the iPhone at least two years after it started working with suppliers to perfect the pressure-sensitive displays. The feature, which lets users adjust the strength of their screen taps to bring up different functions, is Apple’s latest move to stay ahead of rivals such as Samsung Electronics Co., which this year released its latest Galaxy smartphone with a screen that can be viewed from the side.”
Force Touch technology is a new touch screen technology after the fenomenal multitouch. Force Touch sensor can distinguish between tap and press, just it. It’s sounded simple indeed, but imagine the UI in iPhone application which will be influenced by this Force Touch technology. Seems the Force Touch will be an alternative of tap and hold on display so that the interaction of UI in iPhone application will be richer. Apple explains this technology:
“Force Touch uses tiny electrodes around the flexible Retina display to distinguish between a light tap and a deep press, and trigger instant access to a range of contextually specific controls. With Force Touch, pressing firmly on the screen brings up additional controls in apps like Messages, Music, and Calendar. It also lets you select different watch faces, pause or end a workout, search an address in Maps, and more. Force Touch is the most significant new sensing capability since Multi‑Touch.”
Until this moment, we haven’t heard from developers yet related to the possibility of Force Touch comes to reference code in Xcode 7 that we usually peek. So, we can imagine it now that new iPhone will upgrade its hardware according to rumor:
- Display iPhone with Force Touch technology
- 4. 7 and 5.5 inch display similar with iPhone 6 series: iPhone 6 and 6 plus.
- Case iPhone uses 7000 series aluminum.
- There’s gold rose option to complete iPhone’s colors like in Apple Watch.
- 12MP Camera
- A9 with 14nm which will save power and cooler.
New iPhone seems will be introduced in September or October this year, usually together with new iPad: iPad Pro as it’s rumored.
