Samsung Galaxy S5 vs. HTC One M8: Which is the best mobile phone for 2014?

Who gets the best design and built?

While both are crafted from the finest metal and glass materials, each presents unique design and built features. HTC One M8 has a dimension of 146.36mm x 70.6mm x 9.35mm weighing 160 grams and Sony Xperia Z2 scales 146.8mm x 73.3mm x 8.2mm weighing 163 grams making it slightly bigger and weighty than One M8. When comes to handiness, One M8 is the most comfortable due to its curved edges that perfectly sets on the user’s hand. However, when comes to HTC One M8 vs. Sony Xperia Z2 comparison for durability, HTC One M8 can be left behind. Why? One M8 is not dust and water resistant. Unlike Xperia Z2, it is designed with perfect sealing making it completely waterproof and dustproof. Thus, HTC One wins for design while Z2 got the best built.

Performance and Storage

One M8 and Xperia Z2 both uses 2.3GHz Quad-Core Snapdragon 801 chip. The difference goes on the RAM from which HTC One only has 2GB RAM while Xperia Z2 got 3GB of RAM, which means Z2 is faster than the other. For storage, both has 16GB storage capacity expandable through MicroSD cards. One M8 can expand to a maximum of 128GB while Z2 can only expand to a maximum of 64GB. Furthermore, HTC One M8 has 50GB on Google Drive Space making it a winner for storage capacity. Both are running with the latest Android 4.4 KitKat that makes both highly functional on several applications. Comparing battery, M8 uses only a 2600mAh battery while Sony Xperia Z2 uses a 3200 mAhbattery which is a lot long-lasting than HTC’s 2600mAH.

HTC One M8 vs. Sony Xperia Z2 Camera Comparison

HTC One M8 has an Ultra-pixel camera sensor that is capable of making best captures on extreme light. However, when taking photos on low light, results seem unreliable as it provides light more than the usual setting. On the other hand, Sony Xperia Z2 comes with a 20.7 MP sensor camera with 8MP capture output. The 8 MP outputs are great because it is more enhanced though the pixel output is not as much as with HTC One. The details are clearer even when taking pictures at extreme light. Both totally differ with their camera features, but the two are truly exceptional. Either of the two is a good choice.
