How to mute Apple Watch alerts with your palm
There is an option to mute the notification with a few taps, but this option is simpler. To mute the alerts, you only need to cover the Apple Watch display with your palm, and it will be done. But, to make this happen, you need to enable the “Cover to mute” feature first. It is a very simple thing to do:
- Open the Watch app on your iPhone
- Go to My Watch > Sounds & Haptics
- Toggle the switch next to “Cover to mute” (if it is green it means the feature is enabled).
Right under the “Cover to mute” feature, you will see a short description:
“When this is on and you receive an alert, you can mute Apple Watch by resting your palm on the display to cover it for at least 3 seconds. You’ll feel a tap to confirm that mute is enabled.”
As you can see from the description, when you want to mute the alert just place your palm on the display for at least three seconds. So simple! You should keep in mind that covering the Watch with your palm won’t silent timers and alarms.
