The Moto G is a great smartphone and packs a big punch for a very reasonable price. It is the best phone available in the mid-range category of phones today. The powerful processor, latest Android OS and reasonable price makes it one of the most desirable product compared to its counterparts. But like all electronics, sometimes there are some issues that pop up in different scenarios and the same goes for the Moto G. So, in this article we will be talking about How to Fix Moto G Freezing and Rebooting Issue.

How to Fix Moto G Freezing and Rebooting Issue

One of the most common issues due to which our readers have written to us is that the Moto G’s screen will freeze from time to time and that the phone will restart randomly. The phone sometimes does this even when the screen is off and the device is locked! There can be several reasons for this like a specific application, network issues, or other contributing factors.

To fix the issue temporarily, you can tap the power button to turn the screen off and then tap it again to bring it back. This might temporarily unfreeze it. You could also try to tap and hold the power button for a few seconds, until the device reboots. These steps may or may not fix the issue.

-> Safe Mode: You can try to run the Moto G in safe mode. Press the power button and then tap and hold Power off until the Reboot to safe mode window pops up. Tap OK and it will reboot in safe mode. If it worked, you’ll see the text Safe Mode in the bottom left corner of the screen. If the phone runs fine in safe mode then one of the recently installed apps is the problem. You could try removing installed apps one at a time until you find the one causing this.

-> Factory Reset : There is a chance that the above step might not work and in that case the only thing that can be done is to perform a Factory Reset. Go to Settings > Backup & reset > Factory Data reset and then tap Reset Phone. Make sure you back up anything precious first.

-> SIM Card: There’s a chance that a faulty SIM card is the problem which might be sitting right in front of you and you looking everywhere else for the culprit. If you have another SIM card, try to remove the existing one and replace it with a new one. That might make a difference.

If none of the above steps work, you will have to contact Motorola Service Center and get the software re-imaged. If that does not work as well, you will have to get a replacement of the phone as there is a serious issue with the phone. This is How to Fix Moto G Freezing and Rebooting Issue.
