How To Fix Invalid MMI Code Error On Huawei Phone

Huawei users who are facing invalid MMI code error on their phone – this post is for them. Here I will discuss some steps and you need to follow them to fix the issue.

Method 1

You need to run your Huawei phone into the Safe mode which temporarily disables all the apps. Once you see Safe mode at the left bottom corner of the screen type in the same prefix code in the dialer that you were trying before and see what the result is. For example type *135#.

If it is working fine, then any app is the reason for this invalid MMI code, so uninstall the recently installed apps or that particular app which is causing this issue.

Method 2

Another way is to add a comma (,) at the prefix code end.

For example, if the prefix code is *2904*7# then just add a comma at the end, i.e. *2904*7#,

Or you can also add a plus sign (+) after *, like *+2904*7#.

Method 3

Enter into the information mode of your device and turn on IMS over SMS.

To go to the information mode:

• *#*#4636#*#* needs to be dialed in the dialer
• Go to Phone information/ Device
• “Run Ping test” needs to be clicked
• Click on “Turn off radio” after the ping test is done
• You will see “turn on IMS over SMS”, click on it
• Reboot your phone.

Method 4

Restarting your phone for 3-4 times can solve the MMI code problem on Huawei sometimes. Turn on your phone and go to network settings. Now hold the Home and power buttons together until the phone goes off. Turn it on again.

Method 5

Go to Settings on your phone > Network connection > Mobile networks > Network Operators. It will start searching. From the option you need to select your service provider. If still the invalid MMI code problem is occurring then connect again. It may take 4-5 attempts to start working.
