Freemium Games Win App store List of Highest Grossing and Most Downloaded Apps for 2014
On 23rd December, Apple released the annual “Best of 2014” list for the highest grossing and most downloaded titles of App store. Apple revealed that Frermium games are the biggest money makers of this year.
Like the last year’s best of iTunes list, games are the most downloaded apps from the iOS App Store in 2014. According to the Apple’s chart, Heads up! is listed as the top paid app for iPhone and for iPad, the top paid app is Minecraft-Pocket Edition.

Clash of Clans, the popular game that is offered on the Freemium model, is named as the highest grossing app for both iPad and iPhone. Freemium games in some cases have in-app purchase options for virtual currency or special items. Apple revealed games that feature in-app purchase options ranked 9 in the list of top 10 grossing apps for iPhone and for iPad these games ranked 10 out of top 10.
