Moto G4 and Moro G4 Plus are the latest smartphones from Motorola that came with a much-improved processor to offer powerful performance and smooth experience to the users. These two sets are really almost flawless, however, some users have reported of facing Moto G4 overheating problem while some stated about the Moto G4 overheating issue. This is to remind you that every smartphone is bound to get overheated from time to time due to playing heavy games for long hours, using the device for more than 150-200 hours without restarting, recording videos etc. But in case the Moto G4 overheating problem is faced for no such reasons and it is heated abnormally, you should follow some helpful fixes.

Potential fixes for Moto G4 and Moto G4 Plus overheating issues:

Restart the device

The first step is to restart the device. You can do that by pressing down the power button for 10-20 seconds. Some breaks are really needed off and on to let the phone cool down so that everything can function normally.

Clear cache

The next step is to clear the cache and data from the storage of the device. To do so head towards, Settings > Storage &USB and then tap on cached data. Press OK to confirm the process. Now again restart the device if the Moto G4 overheating issue is resolved.

Reboot in safe mode

This is a very common thing that a third party app can be the real cause of this issue. So, to check that you need to reboot the device in safe mode. Press the power key of your Moto G4 and G4 Plus after which Power off option is to be held down for few seconds. As you notice reboot to safe mode appears on the screen, tap ok and the device will be rebooted. Now, safe mode will appear at the bottom left corner of the screen.

Check now if the Moto G4 is overheated for small uses. If not, then it means that a third party app is a culprit. So, start uninstalling the recent apps you have installed and the issue will get resolved.

Close the background apps

If too many apps run in the background, this can be one of the main reasons for Moto G4 overheating problem. There are some apps that just start running as soon as the device is turned on and create excessive heat in the device. So, closing all the background apps can be a helpful Moto G4 overheating fix. Also, there are some unused apps on the device that do not come into much help but eat valuable memory space. So, it’s better to uninstall them completely from the device.

Factory reset

In case you have tried all the above methods and still experiencing the same overheating issue, factory reset is the last option that can come to your rescue. But, you need to set up the device from scratch then. Don’t forget to backup your data. To do the factory reset, go to Settings > Back up & reset> Factory data reset and press OK to confirm the process.

These are the main fixes that you can try to fix up the said issue. But, if your device still performs the same way even after going through the factory reset process, then there are chances that the battery is defective. So, you need to take it to a technician and in case the device is still under warranty period, go for a replacement.
