Toggle Wi-Fi and Airplane mode

Start with the simplest solutions. Turn off the Wi-Fi, wait a couple of seconds and turn it back on. When it comes to Airplane mode, enable it, wait a bit and turn it back off.

Forget the Network

As a first solution, you can try to forget the network that you are using on your phone.

  • First, go to Settings and then under it select WiFi
  • On this screen select your Wi-Fi network and then tap on Forget
  • You can then add the network once again

Reset Network Settings

You can try to reset your network settings.

  • Go to Settings
  • Tap on Backup and Reset
  • Next tap on Network Settings Reset
  • Tap on Reset Settings
  • Next restart your device
  • Connect the Wi-Fi

Reboot Wi-Fi Modem

If the problem still persists and you are unable to connect the Wi-Fi then reboot your modem to solve LG V30 Wi-Fi issues.

  • Unplug the power adapter which is located behind it and then wait for 20-30 seconds.
  • Plug back it back in, it will take some time for the modem to boot.
  • Now connect your Wi-Fi network

Update Your Device

Software updates are important for your phone. If your phone is facing problems with Wi-Fi then it is probably because your phone is not updated. Here is how you can check for updates:

Go to Settings > About Phone > Update Centre. If there is an update pending then proceed with the update and install it on your phone.

Power Saving and Airplane Mode Should be Disabled

If your phone is on Power Saving mode or Airplane Mode then your Wi-Fi connection and some other features will not work. Pull down the notification bar and toggle them off. You can also do it from the Settings of your device.

Go to Settings > Power Saving and toggle it off.

Firmware Should be Up to Date

Speak to your internet service provider about the updates of your firmware.

Check MAC Address is Allowed

Your Wi-Fi will not work if the MAC address of your device is not allowed in the router.

Go to Settings > Wi-Fi > Settings > Advanced and then note down your MAC address. Make sure that this address is allowed in the router’s MAC filter.
