To change notification sound for text messages, and emails do the following:

• Navigate to Settings
• Now tap on Sound & notifications (on some devices it is Sound)
• On most Android phones, you will see an option “Notification tone” and if there is no such an option, tap on “Default notifications”
• You will see the list of the available notification sounds
• Tap on the tone to hear how it sounds, and if you like it, tap on OK, or Apply at the bottom of the screen.

On some devices, when you tap on “Default notifications” or “Notification tone” you can choose the tone from your music collection, and you can also set the tone for text messages, emails, and other things separately by tapping on the option “Message”, “Email”, “Calendar”, etc.

If you want to download more sounds, you can try an application called Zedge. It is a free app available in the Play Store. After you install it, launch it and tap on Notifications. You can search for sounds there, and when you find something that you like, just tap download.
