Opening command prompt using the shortcut Win + X

  • Press Win + X, or click on the start with the right mouse button and select from the list the command prompt.

  • Open the Task Manager by pressing Ctrl + Alt + Del and click on File => Run new task=> Type cmd and then click “OK” => if you want to run as administrator – in the window, check “Create this task with administrative privileges.”

  • When the Task Manager is opened, press and hold the Ctrl key, and without releasing it, click “File” and then click “Start a new task” => after these actions, the command prompt will be opened in administrator mode.

  • Open Search) and type “cmd” in the box, click on the command prompt with the right mouse button, and select “Run as administrator.”

Creating a shortcut of command prompt on your Desktop

  • With the right mouse button, click on a space on the Desktop and select “New” => Shortcut. Write cmd.exe in the box, and click “Next.” Choose the name for the shortcut (you can rename it later) and click “Finish.”
