Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra May Sport Variable Folded Telephoto with 3x to 10x Zoom, Tipsters Say
Samsung is reportedly planning to change up its camera setup for its upcoming Galaxy S24 Ultra model. According to reliable tipster Ice universe, the new flagship smartphone will not feature the 3x telephoto camera found in previous Ultra models. Instead, the 3x telephoto will be merged into a periscope telephoto unit, although Ice universe did not provide further details.
Another tipster, however, claimed that Samsung has replaced the 3x telephoto with a variable folded telephoto featuring a 3x to 10x zoom. This new camera technology could be the solution that Ice universe previously mentioned.
It's important to note that while multiple sources have provided information about the Galaxy S24 Ultra's camera setup, plans could always change before the device's unveiling. Additionally, the Galaxy S24 Ultra is still more than six months away from its expected launch date.
Since 2021, Samsung has released Ultra models in its Galaxy S lineup featuring four rear cameras, two of which are telephoto units. The Galaxy S21 Ultra, for instance, has a 3x telephoto camera and a 10x periscope telephoto camera. The Galaxy S22 Ultra is also expected to feature a similar setup.
