Microsoft's Copilot Getting Boosted with GPT-4 Turbo
Microsoft's popular virtual assistant, Copilot, is set for an exciting upgrade. Powered by OpenAI's cutting-edge technology, Copilot currently operates on a GPT-4 large language model (LLM). The good news is that it's about to get even better.
Mikhail Parakhin, CEO of Advertising and Web Services at Microsoft, has hinted at a forthcoming enhancement. Copilot is gearing up to run on GPT-4 Turbo, the latest iteration of the language model from OpenAI, serving as a significant upgrade to GPT-4. However, a few adjustments must be made before it becomes available to the public.
GPT-4 Turbo comes with a range of improvements over its predecessor. One notable enhancement is an updated knowledge base, providing access to information up until April 2023. Additionally, it boasts a context window capable of handling up to 128,000 characters, equivalent to about 300 pages. This expanded capacity allows users to pose more extended queries.
According to OpenAI, there are cost benefits too. GPT-4 Turbo is reportedly 3 times more affordable for input tokens and 2 times more cost-effective for output tokens than the original GPT-4 model. Exciting times lie ahead for Copilot users as they anticipate a more advanced and efficient virtual assistant experience.
