Samsung Internet Update Brings Customization Features and Improved Tab Management
In a recent update to the stable version of Samsung Internet, the tech giant has introduced new customization features that were previously exclusive to the beta version. The update, labeled as version 21.0.0.41, is now live on the Galaxy Store and will soon be available on the Google Play Store, aiming to enhance the browsing experience for users, particularly those with large screens and tablets.
One of the significant changes in this update caters specifically to tablet users. Samsung Internet now offers the option to relocate the URL/address bar to the bottom of the screen, making it more accessible and user-friendly. While this feature had long been available for smartphones, it had been notably absent for tablets until now.
Moreover, this update allows users to move not only the address bar but also the bookmark and tab bars to the bottom of the screen, alongside the URL bar, on both phones and tablets. Previously, the bookmark and tab bars were limited to the top of the screen and would become disabled if the address bar was moved to the bottom.
However, a limitation worth noting is that the bookmark and tab bars are tied to the location of the address bar. In future updates, users hope for the ability to move the bookmark and tab bars independently, without being constrained by the address bar's position.
Beyond the mentioned enhancements, an unmentioned yet important improvement in the stable version of Samsung Internet focuses on improving tab management. The browser now notifies users when they approach the 99 tab limit, ensuring a smooth browsing experience. Upon opening the 100th tab, the oldest tab is automatically closed, but users are prompted with a popup asking if they want to reopen the recently closed tab.
To access the latest features and improvements, users can download the updated version of Samsung Internet from either the Galaxy Store or the Play Store. However, the availability of the update may vary based on the device and country. If the update is not visible on the app stores, users are advised to periodically check back or wait for Samsung Internet to provide a notification when the update becomes available.
