Huawei Unveils New MateBook D14 and D16 Laptops Alongside Smart Screen S3 Pro TV
Huawei held a big announcement event where it showcased a range of new devices. Among these were the nova 11 series, Enjoy 60X and Band 8, but the Chinese tech giant also introduced new additions to its MateBook D series and a flagship smart TV dubbed Smart Screen S3 Pro.
The latest MateBook D series features two models: the 14-inch and 16-inch sizes, both with a 1200 x 1920px resolution 16:10 IPS display and Intel’s 13-gen processors with Iris Xe graphics. The D14 can be configured with either the Core i5-1340P or Core i7-1360P CPUs, while the D16 can be had with up to a Core i9-1390H CPU.
Both laptops come with up to 16GB LPDDR4x RAM and 1TB NVMe PCIe SSDs. The D14 packs a 56Wh battery, while the D16 is equipped with a 60Wh battery. The laptops come with 65W power adapters and ship with Windows 11 Home Edition.
The MateBook D14 2023 starts at CNY 5,099 ($742) for the 16/512GB trim and goes up to CNY 6,099 ($888) for the 16GB RAM and 1TB storage model. Meanwhile, the MateBook D16 2023 starts at CNY 5,699 ($830) for the 16GB RAM and 1TB storage trim and goes up to CNY 7,199 ($1,048) for the Core i9 model. Sales in China will commence on April 26.
In addition to the laptops, Huawei also announced the Smart Screen S3 Pro, a flagship smart TV available in both 65-inch and 75-inch sizes. The TV features a 2160 x 3840px resolution LCD panel with a 120Hz refresh rate that can upscale to 240Hz in gaming mode. It covers 92% of the DCI-P3 color gamut and can output up to 400 nits of brightness.
The Smart Screen S3 Pro runs HarmonyOS 3.1 and comes with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage. It also features 3x HDMI 2.1 outputs, 1x AV in, 1x USB 3.0 and 1x USB 2.0, as well as an ethernet port. Additionally, it comes with a magnetically attachable camera for video calls.
The 65-inch model is priced at CNY 5,999 ($873), while the 75-inch model costs CNY 7,999 ($1,164).
