Google Workspace Labs' Generative AI Features Now Live on Gmail and Docs

Google has begun rolling out generative AI features on Gmail and Google Docs for users who signed up for the Google Workspace Labs. The new features are designed to "Help you write," and allow users to choose from various options to enhance their writing, such as formalizing, elaborating, shortening, and inserting creative details.
To access the feature in Gmail, users need to start composing an email and click on the "Help me write (Labs)" button next to the "Send" and formatting options. In Docs, users can access the feature via a "Help me write" chip located to the left of their cursor on the page's edge.
Google had previously announced that it would expand its Trusted Tester program by 10 times, with the generative AI features in Google Sheets and Slides still under development. The current expansion of the program, which started in March, aims to continue public testing. While the features are now live on the web, they are not yet available on Android.
Google Workspace Labs is a testing ground for Google Workspace's experimental features, and users can sign up to test the Gmail and Google features.
