The Tor Project and Mullvad VPN, two organizations dedicated to user privacy, have recently launched a new web browser called Mullvad Browser. The browser is designed to protect users' privacy and minimize data tracking. It is free to download and is available on Windows, MacOS, and Linux. A beta version of a Firefox extension is also available for download.

According to Jan Jonsson, Mullvad VPN's CEO, the mass surveillance of today is absurd. He further added that the Mullvad Browser is developed to provide more privacy alternatives to reach as many people as possible and make it harder for data collectors.

The browser was developed by Tor Project's engineers and works by making all users appear as one, similar to the Tor Browser. This means that the more users who use the browser, the more protection all users have.

Isabela Fernandes, the Tor Project's executive director, said that developing the Mullvad Browser with Mullvad is about providing people with more privacy options for everyday browsing and challenging the current business model of exploiting people's behavioral data.

The Mullvad Browser aims to provide a privacy-focused browsing experience and an alternative to existing browsers that often track and collect user data. It is expected to be a useful tool for those who prioritize privacy and security online.
