Snapchat Faces Backlash Over Forced Inclusion of My AI Chatbot in Chat Feed

Snapchat has expanded the availability of its chatbot My AI to all users after previously only offering it to premium subscribers.

The My AI chatbot, powered by OpenAI's ChatGPT technology, offers users a range of functions, from answering trivia questions to offering trip recommendations. However, many users are unhappy with the update, which automatically pins My AI to the top of their chat feed, above all of their conversations with actual friends.

Snapchat users have taken to the App Store, TikTok, Twitter, and Instagram to complain about the inability to remove or block My AI. The result is a flood of 1-star reviews for the app, with 75% of reviews left in the past week being 1-star.

Snapchat has not yet commented on the backlash or whether the ability to remove My AI will be available to non-paying subscribers.
