Samsung Health users will be able to start Sleep Coaching with three days of sleep data gathered over the preceding two weeks, as Samsung reduces the entry requirement and adds weekly recommendations that adjust to changing habits. Previously, getting started required seven days of data collected within a month, so the update more than halves the number of recorded days needed. Samsung plans to begin distributing the features through app updates in October 2026, with Scan Meal initially offered as a U.S. beta service.

Sleep Coaching combines those records with a setup questionnaire covering alcohol and caffeine consumption, disrupted sleep, regularity and users’ satisfaction with their sleep. It then gives users a personalized Sleep Animal symbol and a coaching plan lasting four to eight weeks, tailored to their goals. Samsung says weekly advice changes as the program tracks shifts in sleep patterns, daily satisfaction and lifestyle.

The coaching includes daily checklists and practical suggestions, such as stopping screen use an hour before bedtime and avoiding caffeine late in the day. A new Sleep Balance graph uses a pentagon to bring together Energy Score, sleep satisfaction, time spent awake overnight, sleep duration and regularity. Morning messages offer advice based on the previous night, while weekly reports and a final report give users a longer view of their sleep trends.

Running Coach is also expanding to 12 training levels from 10, adding tiers aimed at intermediate and advanced runners. Personalized plans continue to draw on either earlier running records or a running test lasting 12 minutes. Users can export workout information into templates for social sharing and bring Strava Routes into Samsung Health for cycling, running and trail running.

For food tracking, Scan Meal lets users photograph meals to receive information about calories, ingredients and nutrition. Samsung also calculates a Diet Score from information users enter, using its nutrition assessment model to place results in one of four categories. The assessment considers seven dimensions covering food groups and eating and drinking habits, including protein and vegetable intake, sugary drinks and ultra-processed foods.

Samsung’s nutrition programs also offer education and activities without requiring a record of every meal. Information users provide about their motivation, knowledge and environment shapes a program lasting eight to 14 weeks, with four to five activities each week. Those activities include meal planning and challenges, and Samsung says the curriculum changes in response to weekly feedback and participation.
