Hey Apple fans, get ready for something exciting! This Monday, Apple is dropping the second developer beta of iOS 18, iPadOS 18, and macOS Sequoia.

Fred Sainz from Apple told the Verge to expect two cool features: iPhone Mirroring and enhanced SharePlay screen sharing.

So, what's iPhone Mirroring all about? Imagine controlling your iPhone straight from your Mac. That’s right—your iPhone’s display shows up on your Mac, and you can interact with it fully. You can navigate apps, manage notifications, and transfer files effortlessly. And don’t worry about privacy; your iPhone stays locked, so only you see what’s on the screen.

Then there’s SharePlay screen sharing, which is a game-changer for remote collaboration. You can share your screen with others for real-time help and teamwork. Whether you’re helping a friend solve a tech issue or walking someone through a new app, SharePlay makes it super easy. You can even draw on their screen to show them what to do or take control to get things done quickly.

However, because of the Digital Markets Act (DMA), Apple has to delay these features in the EU. Fred mentioned that the DMA’s requirements could affect user privacy and security, so Apple is working with the European Commission to sort this out without compromising safety.

Aside from these new features, iOS 18 beta 2 will also bring lots of bug fixes and performance tweaks. Updates for iPadOS 18, macOS Sequoia, tvOS 18, visionOS 2, and watchOS 11 are on the way too, showing how Apple is refining its whole ecosystem.

And let’s not forget about Apple Intelligence. This feature promises smarter interactions and personalized experiences and will start beta testing later this summer. However, like the other features, its release in the EU is still up in the air due to regulatory issues.
