Apple has just rolled out Final Cut Pro for iPad 2 and the updated Final Cut Pro for Mac, packed with a bunch of exciting features to supercharge your video production. This news first dropped at Apple’s big iPad event in May, and now it’s finally here.

If you’re using the new iPad Pro, Final Cut Pro for iPad 2 is an incredible tool. Thanks to the M4 chip, it offers twice the rendering speed and can handle four times more streams of ProRes RAW compared to the old M1 chip. This makes mobile video editing faster and more versatile than ever before.

One of the coolest new features is "Live Multicam." Imagine being able to wirelessly connect and preview up to four cameras at once, getting a director’s view of each one.

This magic happens through the new Final Cut Camera app, which lets you link multiple iPhones or iPads into a slick multi-camera setup. Plus, the app can double as a standalone recording tool, giving you manual controls like focus, shutter speed, and ISO for that perfect shot.

The update supports external projects, meaning you can create or open projects on external storage without using up your iPad’s internal space. You’ll also get 12 color-grading presets, eight basic text titles, 20 soundtracks, and dynamic backgrounds to play with, so your creative options are endless.

Final Cut Pro 10.8 brings in some amazing AI-driven features for Mac users. The "Enhance Light and Color" feature automatically tweaks your video to get the best color correction, and "Smooth Slo-Mo" blends video frames to make your slow-motion shots look ultra-smooth.

To add to that, you get better organizational tools—think custom names for color corrections and video effects, plus text-based timeline searches to make finding clips a breeze.

The Final Cut Camera app works with iPhone XS and later (running iOS 17.4 or later) and iPads with iPadOS 17.4 or later and integrates seamlessly with Final Cut Pro. This means real-time camera setting adjustments and an easy transition from shooting to editing.

Final Cut Pro for iPad 2 also supports the new Apple Pencil Pro gestures like barrel roll and squeeze, giving you even more control over your tools.

Both Final Cut Pro for iPad 2 and Final Cut Pro for Mac 10.8 updates are free for existing users. However, if you are new to Final Cut you can get Final Cut Pro for iPad 2 for just $4.99 per month or $49 per year, and Final Cut Pro for Mac 10.8 for $299.99 on the Mac App Store.
